The process below describes the basic installation method of a new Type 6 Elastomeric Joint which will allow movements from 35mm to 150mm.
Surfacing is cut and materials removed as required to form the joint recess.
The carrier rails are cut as required and placed into position for welding.
The Nosing Mortar is then placed in the recess at dimensions agreed noting minimum requirements for depth and width as advised by Manufacturer
On semi curing a 1-3mm calcined bauxite is then applied by hand spreading onto the surface and compacted to enhance skid resistance.
Once cured the newly formed expansion gap is then visually inspected and the elastomeric insert installed and compressed into the carrier rails.
